Our high flexible drag chain cable is specially engineered for cable chain applications, featuring excellent repeated bending performance for continuous moving automation equipment.
What is Drag Chain Cable
Drag chain cable is a high-flex special cable engineered for continuous reciprocating movement inside cable drag chains. It withstands millions-cycle bending stress, avoiding core breakage and insulation cracking under frequent back-and-forth motion. Widely used in machine tools, automated equipment and linear motion axes.
Product Features
- Ultra‑fine high‑stranded tinned copper conductor, outstanding bending‑cycle performance.
- Special flexible insulation material, resistant to repeated bending fatigue.
- Optional overall / individual shielding for signal anti‑interference requirement.
- High‑performance elastomer outer jacket, oil‑resistant, wear‑resistant and coolant‑resistant.
- Low‑adhesion jacket material, prevents cable bonding inside drag chain.
- Custom core count, cross‑section, shielding and jacket material available.
Application
Machine tools, automated machining equipment, linear modules, gantry systems, handling machinery, drag‑chain wiring systems.
Custom Service
We offer custom drag chain cables with various wire gauges, core combinations, shielding structures and special jacket compounds to match your drag‑chain travel length and cycle‑life requirements.
Key Features of TEONLE High Flexible Drag Chain Cable
Our high flexible drag chain cable is designed for continuous bending cycles inside cable chains, where ordinary PVC cables quickly fail due to conductor breakage and insulation cracking. Each cable is built with finely stranded bare copper conductors per IEC 60228 Class 6, allowing repeated flexing without work‑hardening. The specially formulated TPE/PVC jacket resists oil, coolant, abrasion and UV exposure, making it suitable for both indoor machine rooms and outdoor gantry systems.
Typical bending radius is 7.5× the cable outer diameter for fixed installation and 10× for continuous‑flex chain applications. Shielded versions use tinned copper braid with coverage above 85%, providing reliable EMI/EMC suppression for servo encoder signals and fieldbus communication in noisy factory environments.
Typical Application Scenarios
This cable chain wire is widely installed in:
- CNC machine tools and machining centers
- Six‑axis industrial robots and cobots
- Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS)
- Gantry cranes and linear motion axes
- Packaging, printing and textile machinery
- Wind turbine pitch and yaw systems
For each application we recommend matching the cable outer diameter to the chain cavity, leaving at least 10% clearance to avoid compression during high‑speed movement.
Construction and Material Options
TEONLE offers both unshielded and shielded constructions, with conductor cross‑sections from 0.14 mm² to 2.5 mm² and core counts up to 60 cores. Custom color coding, number printing and pair twisting are available for OEM projects. Halogen‑free and flame‑retardant variants conform to IEC 60332‑1 and can be supplied on request for projects with strict fire‑safety requirements.
All raw materials are batch‑tested in our IQC lab before production, and every finished reel passes a 100% high‑voltage spark test and conductor continuity check before shipment.
Why Choose TEONLE
TEONLE Cable has manufactured industrial flexible cables since 2005 from our factory in Gaoyou, Jiangsu. We serve over 300 automation equipment exporters across Europe, North America and Southeast Asia, with UL and CE certified product lines covering servo, robot and drag chain applications. Our MOQ starts from 500 meters per specification, and standard reels are delivered within 10–15 working days after deposit.
For custom lengths, special jackets or printed markings, contact our engineering team with your cable chain dimensions, travel length and bending cycle requirement — we will return a technical proposal and quotation within 24 hours.
Each batch of high flexible drag chain cable undergoes strict flex‑life testing in‑house before mass production. We simulate millions‑cycle reciprocating movement to verify conductor integrity and jacket durability, eliminating early‑failure risks for end‑user equipment.
Rigorous quality control covers raw‑material incoming inspection, intermediate production checks and finished‑cable sampling tests.
Custom lengths are available on request.
